For the Chinese New Year, visit the Harajuku and Omotesando area of Tokyo, which will be having a major bargain event!

The other day we gave an overview of the Omotesando and Harajuku area, where the latest trends can be found, and ”Tokyo GrandShopping Week 2015 @ Harajuku Omotesando” (from Jan. 22 to Feb. 24, 2015), an event in which area shopping malls and shops join forces to welcome you all.
We would now like to give you some information about the shopping malls that form the core of this event.
▼Omotesando Hills is a landmark on Omotesando avenue where high-end brands from Japan and abroad can be found all in one place.
The famous Omotesando Hills is a cultural and commercial facility in a class of its own, designed by internationally known architect Tadao Ando. It is made up of some 100 shops with offerings ranging from food to miscellaneous lifestyle goods, but mostly fashion stores, to satisfy the needs of adult men and women with refined fashion sense.
During this event, popular brand shops including "Tiara", "Quatre-Neuf" and "junhashimoto", as well as specialty boutiques, will hold special sales. You will get bargains on boast-worthy high-end brands, so by all means pay those stores a visit. And in addition to the shops offering special sales, various special privileges await. For example, the popular cleansing oil brand "shu uemura beauty boutique" will offer a trial product to foreign visitors to Japan who spend at least 10,800 yen, including tax, and show their passports. And restaurants are also participating in this event. For example, the longstanding Japanese-style sweets shop "R style -Fine Japanese Confectioneries-" will gift original chopsticks to people who eat and drink there. All sorts of good things await you.

▼There is a full array of shops offering fun experiences! Fashion theme park Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku
Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku is a fashion theme park standing at the Jingumae intersection, a central location in Japanese fashion culture. The fashion building that opened in 2012 and has an eye-catching hexagonal exterior contains a collection of 27 carefully selected shops between its first underground floor and seventh floor. An array of shops offer the fun of shopping and fashion in this facility based on the concept of embodying "only possible here." Also, the 6th floor is a place for relaxation with more than 50 kinds of trees and grasses planted. On that floor visitors tired from extended walking during their travels can take a rest before continuing their shopping.
While this event is being held, you can receive 10 percent off just by showing your passport at the popular fashion shops “Rione Duras”, “LABORATORY WORK ReCurrent”, “charms”, “Cheek by archives” and “pink trick”. There are many other surprises awaiting you in the shopping center, including shops where you can receive a discount, again just by showing your passport, and stores where you will receive a novelty when you make a purchase. Also, even if they are not offering a discount, there are many shops that have become hot topics of conversation including American Eagle Outfitters, a casual brand that began in the United States, so check them out.
