Sweets using the summertime favourite, salted caramel! This product was created in collaboration with popular Japanese model Yu Yamada, and it uses Yukishio powdered salt from Miyakojima, Okinawa.

Just as its name suggests, this flavour-packed “mountain cake” looks like a mountain from the side. Featuring sliced and crushed almonds, as well as caramel sauce, you know it’s going to be amazing simply by looking at it!

The caramel-coloured cream was as anticipated: caramel flavoured! The salt was a wonderful addition; it made the flavour differ from caramel of the regular variety ever so slightly. Perfect for summer, I say! And the almonds added a pleasant aroma and a nice change in texture.

At the bottom, I found sliced bananas, caramel sauce-brushed sponge cake, and banana-flavoured mousse layered beautifully. The sweet cream was balanced perfectly by the slightly bitter aftertaste of the caramel. All in all, I was impressed with the quality. I definitely recommend giving it a try!
