The「Ise Shima Summit」 was held between May 26th and 27th, 2016. The「Shima Kanko Hotel」 was the stage for the summit and national leaders stayed there. This hotel is located on Kashiko Jima. I wanted to see what the hotel and location for the important event was like.

There is a free hotel shuttle bus from Kintetsu Kashiko jima station and it runs about twice an hour. It’s only a 2 minute ride on the bus (or a 7 minute walk).

「Shima Kanko Hotel」 consists of 2 main buildings 「the classic」 and 「the bay suites」 . You can visit 「the classic」 building even if you are not staying.

In 「the classic」, there is a restaurant 「La Mer the Classic」with a great view of the Ago Bay. You can even see the table where the leaders of the countries were seated.

The「Ise shima summit memorial dinner」is limited to one group a day and you can sit at the summit table! You have to order the dinner 3 days before your arrival. The meal costs ¥48,000. After the summit, many people inquired about the meals that where served. The hotel served plenty of Seafood and Mountain food to the leaders of the G7 countries. Try this meal at least once in your life.

In the garden at 「the classic」 you can have a look at the spot where the G7 leaders had their photos taken.

There was a 「 mark」 and national flag where each leader stood. Of course, I stood there like a national leader.

What a fantastic view of the pearl farm rafts floating in the quiet Ago bay. Visiting around sunset would be amazing! Next time I come back I want to stay here.

The closest station to the 「Shima kanko Hotel」 is Kashiko jima station. From Nagoya station to Kashiko jima station is only about 2 hours and 10 minutes on the Kintetsu Limited Express. From Namba station in Osaka it takes about 2.5 hours on Kintetsu Limited Express. From Kyoto station it’s only 2 hours and 45 minutes.
