The Tokyo Monorail is the most efficient way to get from Haneda Airport to the Tokyo city center. You have 13 minutes to enjoy the panoramic view from the windows of its above-street-level track as you make your way to Hamamatsucho Station (to transfer to the JR Yamanote Line). Once again in collaboration with Tokyo Monorail, we’d like to introduce you to a rather wonderful spot: The National Museum of Western Art, which was just recently registered as a World Heritage Site in July 2016.

The museum’s main building was designed by Le Corbusier, France’s master of modern architecture. Located in Ueno, Tokyo, The National Museum of Western Art was registered as a World Heritage Site in July, 2016 along with 17 of his other buildings. This was the first time a "site" that stretched across continents was registered and, as you can imagine, the announcement was one that excited many. Naturally, many tourists have now added the museum to their must-see lists, and its popularity has since seen a sharp increase.

It isn't just the museum building that is worth taking note of, however, there are many treasures being displayed inside of it as well! Countless masterpieces dating from the Renaissance period to the early 20th century can be found adorning the inner walls. The museum houses 10 of Monet's works alone! And the admission fee for the permanent collection is only a mere 430 yen for adults. The National Museum of Western Art is so high on our recommendations list that we urge you to head to Ueno as soon as you arrive at Haneda!
